Born and raised in Dallas, Texas (USA), Todd Barrow is making a name for himself as a country artist to watch. The Texan songwriter has collected more than a few awards, from a PRSA award of excellence, to a spotlight for artists on Alternative Roots Magazine, American Pride Magazine and AVA Live Radio.
He has appeared on television programs including Good Morning Texas with Jerry Matheny and Texas Music Café on PBS. He even shared the stage and studio with some of the most important country music hitters, from CMA musicians in Miranda Lambert’s band to Fort Worth producer of the year Bart Rose.
That of Todd Barrow is compelling country music, which the artist offers us in a genuine way directly from his heart. While it undoubtedly draws its sound influence from the most classic country, Todd’s are modern melodies. Todd’s music is not a country for old people.
“If I can put a smile on someone’s face through song, well that just means the world to me,” he says. “I try to get to the real heart and soul of a song. To me, it’s not just words but a story, and I do my best to portray that with every line. That’s my main draw to country music; the stories, the people, and the sincerity that comes from the heart.”
Todd Barrow has just released his latest single entitled “Rain or Shine”, a piece in which we find all his artistic identity. The theme of the song is about homesickness. The melody and the lyrics are very pervasive, and thanks to Todd’s vocal performance, they create an exquisitely genuine country delivery, with a serene feeling and a veiled melancholy sound, which everyone can relate to.
