Undoubtedly something that allows us to be overwhelmed by emotion, with “Farer,” Våke demonstrates in all its essence how music can truly be a universal language.

The incumbency of those dangers mentioned under the hat given by the title refers to the concerns that may arise in our lives, juxtaposed with exquisite gracefulness to the edifying musicality of the track. And then, even if one can’t grasp the meaning of the song’s words, “Farer” gives a sense of enveloping and driving hope, opening the perspective to look towards what is beyond the problems that can sink us.

Fascinated and involved by the lead vocals’ dense softness, the track pampers, embraces, and elevates us thanks to the sensitive acoustic construction. And while everything unfolds flawlessly, with all the elements of the sound spectrum working like gears in a well-oiled machine, the composition’s organicity and coherence make everything exquisitely legible, relatable, and natural.

After their EP titled “September,” released in June last year, “Farer” is a great entry point into the world of Våke. Shaping a rosy flowering bridge, it’s something that bodes well for what’s to come with their debut album.
