From the momentary stream of thoughts, Stefan Landauer seduce with emotional songs in German, Italian, English, and Spanish, gracefully suspended somewhere between acoustic and indie-pop.
Grew up in Munich and now based in Berlin, Germany, Stefan Landauer is the son of a Spanish mother and a German father.
Stefan soon became familiar with the music of these different cultures, reflecting their influences in his creativity.
Aiming to build an actual bridge between different cultures and languages, Landauer offers emotional songs in German, Italian, English, and Spanish, gracefully suspended somewhere between acoustic and indie-pop.
“It gives me great satisfaction when I touch others emotionally with my chords and lyrics, when I distract them even for a short moment from the stream of thoughts, and seduces them into a world of emotions,” said Launder speaking about his statement.
Although Stefan started playing accordion and composing as a teenager, he commenced releasing his original music only recently. But even from his first releases, it is possible to grasp his artistic vision.
Dimmelo ancora, dillo così
Dillo sotto voce che m’ami, sì
Terra e cielo, danza il fieno
Di viole il prato è pieno
Corre il topo, gemme nuove
Sugli uccelli ancora piove
Dimmelo ancora, dillo così
Dillo sotto voce che m’ami, sì
His songs are personal narratives, dedicated to probing the aspects of life and love, in all their many facets. This is done through apparently decontextualized texts, which in some ways may appear abstract with respect to the pragmatism of the themes treated. There is no doubt how this creative choice denotes the artist’s intent, focused on capturing the less explicit, more hidden, and profound sides of the perceptions and feelings he sings about.
The Berlin artist also bonds his pen on multiple narrative levels, as in his most recent single, the acoustic / indie-pop song “Dimmelo.” Here we find Stefan describing an environment in which strange things happen, mingling it with the inner world of the protagonist’s emotions, who is an emotional disarray with his new love.
Stefan composed the melody and wrote the lyrics in Berlin, where he currently lives, while the recording includes performances by talented musicians from all over the world, from Argentina, to Russia, up to Italy, featuring the characteristic voice of Damiano Della Torre.
