A vocalist, songwriter, content creator, as well as a freelance writer focused on creating captivating, targeted contents for blogs and websites, Sophia Cruz began her musical career studying classical opera and jazz at an early age.

At 16, she wrote and sang her first dance tune, which placed in the Top 20 Billboard charts. From there, she discovered the world of electronic music, which led her to collaborations with DJs and producers around the world, sharing the stage with notable artists such as Travie McCoy, Kelly Rowland, and Philip Phillips, just to name a few.

The works that Sophia wrote have reached the top positions on various charts, including those of Billboard, iTunes, as well as those of other well-known stores. Her accomplishments include international song placement in stores such as H&M and Forever 21, and on USA Network TV pilots. She’s been featured on EDM.com’s Best Of Trap and she can boast participations as semi-finalist in the ISC Songwriting Competition and in the Tune Rise’s Electronic Music Competition.

Now, moving forward from being a singer-songwriter to also doing her own productions and remixes as a producer for herself, Sophia makes her debut breaking into the Lo-Fi scene, releasing the atmospheric single ‘Cloudy’.

The mesmeric piece, written and sung by Sophia in its entirety, is embraced by a mix that is aesthetically full of Lo-Fi influences, offering a relaxed, emotional, and melancholic nature, characterized by a smooth and calming mood.

“The inspiration for this song is about unrequited love and about the decision to love someone deeply even if they don’t love you back. For the Lo-Fi mix, I chopped the vocals, but also wanted to maintain the vibe of the original song, except this time speaking mostly through the music instead of the lyrics.”

So Sophia introduces us to the theme of ‘Cloudy’, a soothing and mellow track where elements and cues of ambient electronic and chill music merge, creating timeless engaging downtempo vibes.

“What inspired me to make this song was the human capacity to love, even if it’s painful for the person giving away their heart and that regardless of how the love feels, stripped down, it is still love all the same,” – she continues – “It’s about impossible situations and how even though you try so hard, the love will never work. It’s loving someone from afar and that you would rather love them and be heartbroken, then to never love them at all.”
