The musical duo of blonde and young sisters The Band Kris recently released the emotional pop single “Everybody Cries at Night” now accompanied by an official lyric video.

We can all be in a bad mood from time to time. So, can we normalize the fact that sometimes it actually feels good to embrace our attitude? Or better yet, can we emphasize the “good” part of finally breaking down?

We can all be in a bad mood from time to time. So, can we normalize the fact that sometimes it actually feels good to embrace our attitude? Or better yet, can we emphasize the “good” part of finally breaking down?

The latest single of the two Nashville sisters is properly about this topic, about normalizing bad or sad moods and crying in public. As they say: “Don’t wait until you’re in bed to finally break down and cry. Cry now!”

Like the vast majority of young people today, The Band Kris tends to overthink anything and everything … and then write songs about it. But this is a genuine trait of their signature, which, even in a light-hearted way, is carried over into their style, which is as common as it is distinctive, topical as well as platinum.

“Everybody Cries at Night” is probably the most raw, honest song we have ever written in the sense that these lyrics show the not so likable sides of us (bad moods, mid-day meltdowns, depression). Ultimately, we want this song to empower people to embrace their emotions! It’s authentic how you feel so EMBRACE THOSE FEELINGS!"

Yes, they are sensitive and dramatic, but we have to admit, they don’t have to apologize every time they let their emotions come out.

Thus swinging us in that mood balance that young and old all live every day, Jamilyn’s sarcasm and Dani’s sensitivity play like two counterweights of the same scale. Here the patina of a “is-all-righ” polished mask is left for those who are best at hiding feelings.

A little more about The Band Kris

Based out of Southern California, Jamilyn and Dani gave their sister collaboration a permanent name in 2014 after writing a song to their older brother, Kris, who was also a musician but passed away before he got the chance to fulfill his lifelong music dream.

In remembrance of their late brother, The Band Kris pays tribute to him by advocating the importance of treating depression before it is too late. Losing their brother to depression has led the sister duo to perform various times at American Suicide Prevention Walks in hopes that they can bring awareness to the reality of depression.

It’s all about being honest, with yourself and with others, and having the courage and maturity to show yourself for who you are, even when you are upset.

Jamilyn and Dani often close their videos with their signature statement, which half-jokingly encourages every haters to remain silent: “Only nice comments, we’re super sensitive!” And that’s where we can hear and see the sum, of how their platform is more than just showcasing their witty, unfiltered personalities in front of the camera.
