Kuwalla’s single, Paint It Gold, is an upbeat and charged indie-rock number. Raised in the historic Los Angeles rock community, they emerged from the melting pot of the Southern California music scene, driven by the influences of indie alternative and hard rock, punk and blues.

Since 2015, they have released three singles – Is It News To You, Paint It Gold and Shack – then collected in the 2017 EP Standard, followed in 2019 their latest single Sea Creature.

Starting in 2018, they performed countless shows along the West Coast, from events with hundreds of people, to more intimate gigs in clubs and bars.

Their recording plan includes the regular publication of singles, which will culminate in 2020 with the release of an album.

Kuwalla have a bright, direct and intelligible sound, capable of transmitting solar vibes and creating brilliant atmospheres.

We chose to discuss their second release, Paint It Gold, which probably best represents the founding elements of their sound.

Paint It Gold is a charged rock number, however this is not just an attempt at a throwback sound. This song has a contemporary feel, with a fresh indie-rock twist. A melody with a catchy-pop vibe, filled by raw guitar tones, grows into a multi-layered mix, which in turn builds up an expansive and immersive soundscape.

Paint It Gold is a well-balanced and crisp production that highlights the charismatic essence of the band.

In a nutshell, this is Kuwalla‘s essence and identity made song.
