Already known as the piano version of Lindsey Stirling and the female version of Maksim Mrvica, Jolynn J Chin is an emerging young pianist, who experiments by creating crossover between classical music and more modern styles.
Inspired by artists like Marc Rebillet, Chin has chosen to incorporate looping style into classical music. “I imagined having a voice like ‘Stop Corona’ on loop, incorporating the classical track ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ by Edvard Grieg, whilst adding modern style beats into it” – said Chin about her latest single ‘Stop Corona’ – “I decided to just have fun and casually uploaded a fun video doing that on IGTV, and it got so much great reaction and since my fans loved it so much, I decided to turn it into a real track.”
With a hint of humor and a veil of surrealism, elements now chronicled in this Covid’s lockdown, the track is accompanied by a video that portrays Chin struggling with his daily routine, fighting boredom, low mood, stress and anxiety. The video is available on Jolynn J Chin’s Youtube channel.
