Raised by an immigrant mother in New York City, Alma Grace draws inspiration for her new act from her need to constantly achieve something new and important, to make her family and culture proud.
So Alma Grace introduce ourselves to her latest song:
“I was working in the U.S. Senate at the age of 17, got into a top college, and realized that I was always anxious and rarely happy. I decided to take time off from school to focus on my music, and wrote ‘You Are Here’ a couple of months in. It’s about letting your hair down, giving yourself time to breathe, and living in the moment.”
After the formidable and passionate plea for a more humane immigration system that was her previous song ‘Adios Maria’, this talented artist, actress and activist now returns to amaze with the contagious and edifying hymn of ‘You Are Here’, bringing us an honest and optimistic pop number.
In the roster of interesting emerging pop artists we’ve discovered in recent months, Alma Grace is definitely one to keep on your radar.
Released on April 3, 2020, ‘You Are Here’ is available on all streaming platforms.
